Psychologist-Rachel Zeichner PsyD

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice. I am licensed in both Florida (PY9116) and Georgia (PSY003896), and I am providing services through telehealth. I greatly enjoy this way of practicing for the flexibility and comfort it provides for patients. I work with individual adults and couples, and strive to create a safe space in which people are able to open up to the challenge of self-reflection, increased awareness, and learning new skills to foster a full and meaningful life.

I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Health Psychology, as well as additional training in Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Previous Experience: Prior to opening my private practice, I worked at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. While there, I split my time between the Department of Psychiatry and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. I also worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Atlanta Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Medical Center in the outpatient Sleep Clinic. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Nova Southeastern University in 2013. I completed my Internship in Medical Psychology/Consultation-Liaison at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and my Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at the University of Miami. In these positions, I conducted psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families coping with a variety of psychiatric and medical conditions, as well as difficult life experiences and transitions. I also led structured skills-based and support groups, and supervised trainees. I conducted assessments including comprehensive psychiatric and capacity evaluations, as well as evaluations prior to stem cell transplant, solid organ transplant, and bariatric surgery.
